Who are we?

Singing Unlimited is a women’s choir that performs four-part a cappella music. Starting as a small group in 2013, we now consist of about 50 enthusiastic members of all ages and from all walks of life. Our repertoire ranges from contemporary pop music to moving film scores and beautiful ballads.

Singing together is our passion!

As an a cappella choir, we are committed to continually improving. Quality coaching, regular rehearsals, and having a lot of fun singing together help us achieve this. SU is known for high-quality performances, both in terms of vocals and stage presence, and we love sharing our passion for music with our audience.

Our director - Anita Zengerink

Anita Zengerink serves as the artistic director of Singing Unlimited. She is a certified (SAI) musical director.

The growth SU is experiencing is certainly also due to the varied rehearsals, during which Anita, as conductor, teaches the members various barbershop techniques. She asks each choir member to continue developing their vocal and musical skills.

During rehearsals, Anita teaches the choir how to apply these techniques so that the unique barbershop sound, creating a fifth overtone with four vocal parts, resonates throughout every song.

Anita: “I think it’s important that the choir and the conductor share the same ambition: to convey the musical message. That’s what the audience comes for!” As a director, she knows how to foster that interaction in an inspiring way.

May 2025: SU’s performance breaks the 600-point barrier; the director is awarded the title of Master Director

Our Honorary Members – Nel and Nelleke

From longest member to biggest fan
Since SU was founded in 2013, Nel Tieman and Nelleke Jansen have been very active and cherished members of our choir. We couldn’t just let their “retirement” from our choir pass by unnoticed. On Thursday, December 19, 2019, we bid them a festive farewell and “crowned” Nel and Nelleke as our honorary members. Even though they no longer sing with us, they are—as our biggest fans—present at virtually every SU performance.
